No, a ultrasound between 18-20weeks is best. By that time, their organs are matured enough to tell the sex. Earlier than that, it's too hard to tell for either sex.

No. Because if they scan too early they could "detect" a penis and it is truly the girls ovaries and labia protruding cause it hasn't yet matured into it's correct positioning. I would say, wait until 18 weeks when both male and female organs have developed and are in the correct spots and then you will definitely be able to tell. At 18 weeks it was an ABSOLUTE positive I'm having a boy. I've had 3 scans after that that allllllll confirmed BOY! There's no mistaking his pee pee, ha ha ha!

I don't think there penis makes it easier to detect. I knew with my sons and daughter all around the same time.

No. But if the ultrasound tech sees a little boy more than likely they are correct. But if they see a little girl you still have a slim chance they are wrong. Sometimes little boys can hide their penis and you don't know it.

No, they can tell the sex of the baby at the same dates as long as the baby is co-operating and is in the right position.

That's usually the way it's determined. Otherwise, there's not much way to differentiate by ultrasound, after all :-)
