Canadian income tax returns must be filed by April 30th of the year following the tax year. So for 2006 tax returns the filing date is April 30, 2007. Taxes owing are also due by this date.

The exception is for self employed persons and their spouses. If a person is self-employed then the filing deadline is June 15th for them and their spouse. However, taxes owing are still due April 30th and interest will begin to accrue at that point on any outstanding balance.

Cheers!

Canadian taxes are due April 30, 2007, regardless of whether or not you are self employed.

If you owe taxes as of April 30, 2007 and are unable to pay the balance in full, you must file your 2006 Income Tax Return by this date, otherwise, you will be assessed a 5% late filing penalty on the balance owing.

If you are self-employed, the filing deadline for 2006 Tax Returns is June 15, 2007.

Hope this helps you.

Canadian earnings Taxes are due April thirtieth. Your return would be due then as nicely, for many taxpayers. in case you're self-employed, then you certainly might have been paying quarterly installments for final year. the kind between your installments and the quantity you owe for 2006 is due April thirtieth, although if so, your return will in no way be due until June fifteenth. besides the fact that in case you could wait until June fifteenth to report, t is a reliable thought to report your return by using April thirtieth besides, because you could desire to pay something of the stability owing by using April thirtieth (as already stated); that's confusing to wager what that quantity would be with out certainly doing the return.

End of April, now you will only get penalized if you owe money if its done after the end of April, but if you don't owe money you will not have to pay the penalty. I took mine to H and R block, there really good and they send your taxes by e-file, and you are getting money back they can write you a check on the spot.
