Violence is not new to the world, nor is it new in schools. It is the level of violence in schools that has changed. In previous years, brawls were a common occurrence. Fighting in schools has changed to killing sprees. The difference in agression seen is astounding, but the reason is elusive. The answer cannot be found in one paper, but the reasons have to be examined to understand them. There are many searching for the answer and one person does not have all the answers. If enough people examine the violence in schools, a clear picture of the escalation and what brought students to this point may shed light on this disturbing trend.
