here in Glasgow we have a good thing, you buy tokens from various outlets, they cost £1. you give the token to a beggar and they take it to a shelter, it gets them a warm meal and a change of clothes, it means you know your money is actually helping someone in need, even if they sell it for 50p to another beggar, someone who needs it will end up using it

I've only ever seen one begger and I didn't give him money because I was really young and had no money. It was in sydney, australia.

I do but they have to be a bit scruffy looking to me cause we have too many people out there who are on social assistance & looking for money

i do sometimes. im torn about it because i think on one 1 hand they will go buy booze or drugs, but on the other hand i feel that once ive made the decision to give to them its their decision as to how they use it. no strings attached.

if you were begging then yes for sure but otherwise no i give to charities for the homeless though. i think that if you give to beggars you are only helping to feed their drug and alcohol addiction
