Do you not realize that's their job?

It's interesting how several people have somehow concluded, without actually being members of Congress, that Congress isn't doing anything but asking for testimony from White House officials.

You'll be reminded of that when you complain about the legislation they're trying to pass in the next few days.

Seems to me that it is ignorant to take one news story that is getting media attention and claim it's the only thing that's happening... particularly when you routinely complain that the media only reports part of the news.

Well put. Sometimes I wonder what's being taught in schools. Do they not teach civics anymore?

That's a part of their job. Don't pretend that all of this is anything more than political posing.

What else can be gained from this besides political points, as the firings were legal, regardless of the motivation.

Part of my job is using the copying machine, but I'm not about to spend the next 3 weeks doing only that.

Of course it is - it's the system of "checks and balances" at work. But that doesn't mean Congress can micromanage everything the president does, to wit, the US attorney firings. Clinton did the same thing at the very start of his presidency but nobody crucified him for that. And rightly so - it was Clinton's call, just as it is Bush's call now.

#2 Yes, it is their job, but not at the exclusion of all other issues
#3 It is not their job to overdramatize and stage circus-like hearings and testimonies
#4 I am waiting to hear "off with their heads" (I can so see this coming from the mouth of Nancy Pelosi)

BTW - Good Morning!
