I saw a news item about a gun runner purchasing .50 cal sniper rifles legally there in the US and shipping them by the hundreds in twos and threes to Albania through multiple exit points. Geez, do you what a .50 cal can do!? Does that mean that ordinary US citizens can ship/carry their TEC-9s and Glock 22s into Africa and Latin America with just bribery money and some contacts?
Hope this post doesn't give any Americans not-so-funny ideas about profitting from global commerce.

Yes, many poor countries do not have sophisticated security system or security staff. They can be easily bribed and contacts too help. Contacts can be easily made by making suitable gifts to them.
Americans do get funny ideas and do profit from smuggling guns to these poor countries, but funnily these same guns sometimes kill american soldiers, which has happened in afghanistan and some gulf countries.
