That would make sense if blood was the only factor. However those soul cursed by Satan with vampirism represent a parody and mockery of Christ's blood. If Christ returned from the death for the good of humanity . A vampire returns for just for self .Christ's blood is payment for humanity's sins. A vampire is a thief that steals the blood of others and breaks the Old Law that the blood belongs only to God.

They can and good question BUT the female Vampire can't acctually drink her own blood someone else would have to.
And remember that you are only on a period for about 5 days so theyve still got 26 days left to find blood

They prefer it warm, fresh and near the heart. They also prefer to drink it rather than chewing. With blood loss to the brain the victim is more compliant and much less cranky.

While the idea is incredibly amusing and even tempting to toy with, story-wise, the sad fact is that menstrual fluid isn't as much blood as other substances. Poor vamps would starve!
