Being late for an interview at the Jobcentre I decided to jog to speed things up and this caused my heartrate to increase and I felt a palpatation which caused me to have a panic attack and thinking I was having a heart attack called an Ambulance and was taken to hospital shaking & with a pulse rate of 110 while resting.
So anyone still think exercise is good?

Kitana, if I new I wasn't having a heart attack I wouldn't have had a panic attack, it's a vicious circle and unless you've experienced it you'll never know!

Actually, your logic is all screwed up. Exercise is great. Having a panic attack is what is bad. What grade are you in?

Exercise is good.
Your heart rate can, to a point, be controlled consciously, although it is generally controlled automatically.
STRESS will keep your heart-rate high:
110 whilst resting after a stressful incident isn't really that high - the maximum safe noted heart-rate is 220 minus your age, so even if you are 50 your heart should not give up the ghost just yet.
Heart rate and blood pressure can increase simply by drinking a cup of tea or coffee (caffeine/sugar) - so if you have been offered a cup to calm you down, give it back and ask for a warm water instead...
I tested my blood pressure at rest a few months back; 118 over 79, 10 minutes after a cup of sweet coffee it was about 140 over 94.

I know exercise is good for you and I also know being late is bad manners. So don't be late and you won't have any trouble. Having a panic attack is also a great way of avoiding an interview at the Jobcentre.

Hello,
(ANS) NOP!!, Bad excercise taken inappropriately IS bad for you, especially if you are very unfit in the first place.
**Good excercise, when taken in a planned and carefully controlled way, the right environment with proper supervision can and is VERY benefical & thats a well recognised fact.
**Most people havent a clue how to exercise correctly, & you can go to any local gym to see that.
**To gain the best benefits from exercise, it should be done frequently x2 or x3 per week, and for atleast x1 hour and involve getting breathless & swetting. Carefully followed warm-ups & cool down routines should be used. And anyone undertaking exercise should have considered their general fitness & medical condition before undertaking such a routine.
**I trained as a dancer for x3 years daily and also undertook intense circuit & weight training x3 times a week for 12months without any injuries or problems.
**The problem is that 95% of gyms dont have good quality instructors who have been serious atheletes themselves. Most gyms DONT teach the critical importance of the correct body alignment & body placement on each exercise so that means most people dont exercise correctly, means alot of effort & energy is totally wasted, the person isnt exercising correctly.

thats because you are unfit. If you exercised more regulary then you would not have suffered these palpitations which lead to the panic attack. Try building up the amount of exercise you do gradually. If you still need proof that exercise is good for you check out the statistics saying how many people die of heart attacks and coronary heart disease due to obesity.

Exercise is as we all really know excellent in terms of a career health move. It revitalises and invigorates and releases endorphins which make us feel good. The more regularly we do it the better it makes us both look and feel.
It helps to burn off all those extra Big Macs we should not have eaten and is good for the heart, lowering pulse, blood pressure and sugar levels and thus extends our lifespan.

I do not think all exercise is good for you, i agree with you. My friend did body-building for years, she took part in alll the competitions and today she cannot lift a thing, her shoulders are shot and so is her knees. I feel absolutely sick when i do cycling and also when i do earobics, cannot be good for you. I have read somewhere the people who lives the longest are those sitting down more and just relaxing, think i am going to do that in future.:))

Stupidity is also bad for you.
Did you know that several people died in the last Great North Run because they didn't exercise and train enough for it.
Your stupidity will be the death of you - either that or depression form having to go to the Jobcentre!

I think you've just proved yourself wrong. You are unfit and not very clever to not beable to realise the differnce between a panic attack and a heart attack.

Well....duh! If you don't exercise regularly, then start jogging suddenly without warming up and you have palpitations...This is a surprise to you?
Would you start up an old car that has been sitting in your driveway for a few years and immediately go drive it in a race without taking it to a mechanic and having it checked out first? You'd be crazy to do that, right? Exercise is definitely good for you, but you just don't go out and do something strenuous without making sure you are up to it first.
Take this episode as your body's warning that you are getting out of shape.
