save your autocad in DWG file (well, actually all autoCADs are in DWG file) then on then... click on

FILE > IMPORT

and this screen will appear
(http://www.fazuu.net/ayez/skidmarks/stash/sketchup-import.jpg")
select DWG file and then select the autocad file u want to use.

Take note that once an autocad file is insert into sketchup, it is not surely in the scale u hoped it to be. If it's not then u need to rescale/resize it. And to scale it to your desire measurement, take the measuring tape, select one point to another. (click once at one point and then click again) and then type in the actual measurement u want it to be.

Open sketchup and go to import 3d models... and select your dwg file. Even if you drew in 2d in AutoCAD it's still considers as 3D to sketchup. 3D in a sense that AutoCAD is vector-based and not raster.

You might trying saving your AutoCAD file to a lower version file so sketchup can read it. In the past Sketchup wasn't able to read newer versions of CAD files.
