it is extremely complicated to explain on here, but when you go pick up the shoes (they are drum brakes) look for a Haynes Manual for your vehicle and they will give you a step by step. I suggest paging through the steps in the store to make sure you have all the right tools to do the job to prevent return trips to the store.

1st...you get out your jack
2nd...jack up the truck.
3rd / place safety supports under the truck
4/ remove the wheels
5/ shall I go on...

1/ drive to a licensed professional

same way you would on any other car..jack it up, take the wheels off, then change the break pads. simple
