I'm raking the moss off the lawn by hand, and it is taking a long time.
Is there a power tool that can do this job ?
If so, what is it called and where can I get one ?

First of all go to your local garden centre and buy some lawn sand/moss killer apply the moss killer, try and get a mercurized moss killer and wait till the moss is dead, you then need to scarify your lawn to get the dead moss out you can hire a scarrifier from any good plant hire shop try and get a petrol machine. After scarrifieing your lawn you should top dress your lawn, i would use a little top soil mixed with course sand after doing this you should re seed on any bald patches. don't feed your lawn until you've cut your lawn 2 or 3 times. there is feeding mixed in with the lawn sand. Do not compost the clippings from the first 2 or 3 cuts.
Raking out moss before you have killed it will only worsen the problem by spreading the live spores to other parts of the lawn. When using lawn sand or any other chemical always follow makers instructions.

There is only one sure way to get rid off moss on a lawn. Picking it off by hand is a waste of time because you are not getting the roots out, and it will come back again. What you have to do, is with a garden trowel Dig out the moss and dig down about 2 inches to get all the roots out. Then level the ground and then spread some compost and level it. Next put new grass seed down and sprinle it liberally. Water lightly, and within two weeks you will have nice green grass wher the moss was. It will make your lawn look like a patchwork quilt until the new grass has grown, but it is well worth the effort. This method is better that any power tool

You need a scarifier. It is best to hire one for the weekend (expect to pay around £50). This will be for a heavy duty professional grade machine. Just make sure that the hire shop shows you how to use it SAFELY. Once this is done treat the lawn with ferrous sulphate (lawn sand) to prevent regrowth. Moss is usually an indicator of poor drainage or inadequate light.

Why bother? the moss will just come back. Learn to enjoy it. It's green, it's soft and it doesn't need mowing. Grass will never grow where moss can live.
If you really hate it, at least spade it up in sheets and sell it to the local nursery for people who do appreciate it.

the easiest way of getting rid of moss is to get an all in one killer called weed,feed and mosskiller from wilkinsons,it is only £3.50 a box.you will see the results within 3 weeks and you will be well satisfied.
