I have created a user account for my employees to use on the computer. It is a limited access account. However, I want to remove ALL of the programs (including the internet) from that account, so they cannot access it. However, if i delete something from the desktop or start menu, it deletes it from my user account also. How do i remove all the programs (except for two) from the limited access account without it affecting my account?

Downloading is not the problem. I dont want them to play on the computer at work. I just want them to have our work program and yahoo music engine. They dont need access to ANYTHING else, including word, excel, internet, anything. I already am the system administrator. I just want to be able to remove these programs from THEIR account!

You need to block the files directly on the file system using security. One way is to deny access to a special group of users to binary files (be carefull to what you do, don't deny yourself access!).

Another way is to set up local policies. Policies are security measures that control what applications can be used as well as their behaviours. You can find policies under the control panel -> Administrative tools -> Local policies.

The third way is to install tools that limit access. I know McAfee SMB allows you to block access to executables. This is an easy way to limit access to certain files.

Good luck!

You make yourself the system administrator and them the user. This will prevent them for downloading malicious files to the PC.
