Most states have some form of Megan's law which places convicted sex offenders on many restrictions. You can find these persons online and find out where they live. Personally I think depending on the type of sexual offense they should receive life without parole. We need to beef up the guidelines to determine which offenses receive life sentences and which can be released back into society. Personally I don't think that someone who rapes a child should ever see the light of day again.

devoid of comparing the sentences for intercourse crimes to those for different categories of crime, the subject is with regard to the actuality that we gained't constantly be certain who will re-offend and who won't. The case you cite on the subject of the female who became up after being abducted 18 years in the past is uncommon. in the different occasion, the actuality which you comprehend the guy is a intercourse criminal ability others can to boot, and you're able to tell others approximately it. we don't would desire to fasten him up for flirting with women. you probably did no longer say how old those women have been, and how old he's. on a similar time as the recidivism cost is greater than favourite for intercourse offenders, no longer each criminal re-offends. would desire to we deliver each criminal to detention center for existence on the prospect they'd re-offend? i'm no longer extremely joyful with intercourse offenders the two. Their previous habit and ability destiny habit isn't hassle-free at ultimate. and you're able to be disgusted and angered by ability of it. that would not recommend a some distance-attaining and unpractical answer would desire to be sought. the government does incredibly have confidence intercourse abuse is a huge deal. check out the extremely some regulations that have been surpassed only interior the previous 5 years on my own related to intercourse offenders.

I agree. Prison should not be used as a temporary punishment, but as a program of intense rehabilitation so criminals can be reintroduced safely back into the community, and if it is not able to rehabilitate these people and make them fit for society, they should be placed within a type of prison work scheme to pay for their life imprisonment. I don't think that you can justify capital punisment this day and age.

first off not all sex offenders commit against youth.
secondly:Myth: Sex offenders almost always reoffend.
Fact: Sex offenders re-offend at a rate below that of all offenses except homicide.

There should certainly be tough laws for sex offenders who prey on children or force themselves on other adults . However I bet most people wouldn't 't know the number of people(mostly male) who get locked up for what used to be called statuary rape. Now I'm not referring to messing with children. or pedophilla That's unforgivable no matter who the perpetrator is or how old he or she is.
I mean, for example, a 21 year old guy who becomes involved in sexual relationship with a 16 year old girl who has agreed to the intimacy. Trouble is, the law in most states says that she is too young to consent so the guy is subject to arrest and imprisonment. The parents may find out about it and turn the man in; or the girl herself may do it herself to keep from getting into trouble with her family or for reasons of spite or jealously.(He breaks off the relationship, she sees him with another girl, etc)
Now if someone is breaking the law, there needs to be some kind of punishment. But putting a young man(or young woman) in his late teens or early 20's in prison for underage sex (And again, let me reiterate, I don't mean sex with children or sexual contact that is forced upon a victim ) with someone who is , let's say, between the ages of 15-17 is overkill. Plus they have to register as a sex offender.and can be stigmatized for the rest of their lives. The time and money spent prosecuting these offenders and taking care of them while they're incarcerated can better be used to go after the truly dangerous. predatory sex criminals.
Not to say that they shouldn't have to take responsibility for their actions but prison isn't the answer in my opinion.
I teach in a prison and have met young men as I have described above. Knowing what I know now about what can happen to a young man if he gets involved with someone under 18, I would strongly advise any parent to warn their sons (or daughters) not to have ANY sexual contact with a minor no matter how much that minor is willing to agree.
I don't know why this isn 't taught more in sex education classes. We seem to be teaching our kids that it's alright to be sexually active as long as they use protection but do we tell them that if their partner is over 18, he or she could be sent to prison? And if the law says minors can not consent to sex, isn't condoning them having sex also encouraging illegal behavior?

I don't believe they deserve a second chance. There is scientific data proving that there is no cure for peophilia. So, lock them up and throw away the key. I for one, do not want these menaces of society walking the streets around our children.

Restore capital punishment and enforce it with zero tolerance and you will see a huge drop in rape, murder and child molestation. Quit paying lawyers to get these criminals free. There is no justice for victims in this arrangement.

i live in a Islamic country, and we kill sex offenders. turns out they never re offend again, sex offenses are way down, everyone seems happy. we also use this approach with drug peddlers, already we can see drug use way way down. I would say try it in your country for 10 years and see for yourself the results!
