I've just started playing checkers via my MS games program.
The stupid help directory has nothing about this...

I don't understand how an opponent can jump two spaces even though their piece is not a king. Please explain. Thank you!

So they take one of my pieces and then automatically get one more space?

The only thing a king can do differently is move backwards. A piece is able to keep jumping as many times as is it is able to (in one move) so technically it is possible for one piece to jump every one of your pieces in one turn (if they are positioned properly) A piece may never jump an empty space, over one of its own, or more than one space in a single jump. They also must always move diagonally.

Can only jump two spaces if capturing opponent in middle of jump ie. located on first space. King allows movement in both directions

Multiple jumps are allowed if the piece keeps moving forward. A king allows both backwards move and backwards jump. A king may also make multiple jumps forward, backward, or a combination of forward and backwards.

because it can jump as many as possible as long as there is an empty space in the right direction. You can triple jump sometimes too

I think you have to click the first space and them the second space quickly. I don't own the game, but that's how you play it on my computer. ( sorry I couldn't be more of a help )
