I'm not sure about the best hotel, though I have heard the Holiday Inn is rather cheaper than others...

We've stayed at the Best Western and the Holiday Inn. They were both decent as far as price goes. We parked cars at both of them - the Holiday Inn was valet, the Best Western had a voucher for city parking, so you parked yourself. They're probably both about the same walk to the BC. We've probably been to the Holiday Inn more often, but the nice thing about the Best Western is that it's closer to the Lakefront and the "mall".
I really like the Courtyard, which is sort of in the same area, but that's probably a little more expensive.
I never usually venture out much as far as restaurants go, we usually just pick something cheap and quick so can't help you there.
