Because their leader is an idiot on a par with Bush and Blair.

Im not so sure there will be an attack on Iran. They might not be so easy to conquer as the Iraqis for one thing, for two it will be an escalation towards world war three, for three yankees already struggling in Iraq and Afghanistan. But on the other hand war with the muslims is inevitable because its the only life they know. They are backward morons, but what u can do unless u wipe them all out I think Iran sucks personally, might be a good idea to just nuke Teheran and say anyone else wants some they can have the same.

I predict and attack on Iran will spark WW3. It will cause outrage in the middle east. Syria will get involved and while at it will not hesitate to attack Israel. As pro- israel as iam iam sure they will launch nuclear weapons. Surrounding arab countries will get involved and as a war is happening you can bet pakistan and india will flare up its old rivalry. It sounds apocalyptic but all it possible. An attack on Iran WILL spark something more. Anyway sorry i havent quite answereed your question there. Having lived 1st hand in the middle east including a year in Israel, and during the pull out of Lebanon on may 24th 2000. I have watched this grow and grow. In the 60's, 70's and 80's we thought the enemy was in Russia. How wrong we were. I feel for Israel as a nation who want peace but are surrounded on all borders by people who want them out. Incidently The arabs welcomed the Jews mostly in 1948 as Palestine was mostly marshland in places like Tel Aviv and they came with money and ideas. Its only the new generation that has caused this upset. Anyway i digress. The problem is legality again. Officially on paper coalition forces were "invited" into afghanistan but officially we "invaded" Iraq. If the same happens again we will encounter much much worse resistance and consequences.

Well, something is afoot....because Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad abruptly canceled his planned trip to New York to address the U.N. Security Council. The U.N. voted to expand sanctions against Iran and gave Iran 60 more days to stop enrichment of uranium.
A strike group led by the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis recently joined a similar force in the Persian Gulf led by the carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. Furthermore, the French nuclear carrier Charles de Gaulle and its task force met up with the USS John C. Stennis last Wednesday.
U.S. and British officials said a boarding party from the frigate HMS Cornwall was seized about during a routine inspection of a merchant ship inside Iraqi territorial waters near the disputed Shatt al-Arab waterway.
The seizure of two Royal Navy inflatable boats took place just outside the mouth of the Shatt al-Arab waterway, a 125-mile channel dividing Iraq from Iran. Its name means Arab Coastline in Arabic, and Iranians call it Arvandrud - Persian for Arvand River. A 1975 treaty recognized the middle of the waterway as the border.
Iranians send arms to Iraqi extremists, including sophisticated roadside bombs. This week, two commanders of an Iraqi Shiite militia told The Associated Press in Baghdad that hundreds of Iraqi Shiites had crossed into Iran for training by the elite Quds force, a branch of Iran's Revolutionary Guard thought to have trained Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon.

I'm sure Iraqi's didn't fully expect to get attacked before the war. It's just that such a war is a distant and almost fantastic notion to the citizens. For example, imagine how the citizens of say england would react if Russia was threatening to invade them over some mildly trivial matter; it would likely be met with skepticism by the general populous.
Similarly, while everyone else might be able to see it coming, the Iranians might be experiencing this form of denial. That, and the government is relatively pro-bush.

Talk about America signaling its intentions.Maybe they think
people who launch attacks like that have a habit of getting entangled in guerilla conflicts.Maybe the average Iranian does not want war.Can you imagine what would have happened in WW11 if the allies had telegraphed every move.
"Hey Adolf we are landing on June6 put a mark on the calender."If war comes with Iran watch the death toll on both sides.

Because it is political suicide for the west to yet again tangle in mid-eastern affairs and will have greater consequences than the wars of iraq and afghanistan.my own personal fears are that if iran is attacked then it will go for israel and cause the west all sorts of grief.

what do you mean by "coming"- it seems that your country has alot of men and women to spare for yet another thoughtless, mindless encounter which probably leave more than half dead on both sides inorder to prove that yes iran was wrong and bush was right.
