Some pertinent points to the issue of AGW.

1) no scientist associated with the IPCC panel support AGW
2) CO2 follows warming periods, does not lead them and therefore is not the cause but a symptom
3) Multitudes of earth scientists state unequivocally that the warming is due to solar activity.

Kyoto and the IPCC reports were written by bureaucrats, like Gore, not scientists. They have taken data sets out of context and have moved to create a ENORMOUS $$$$ industry on pure BS and fear mongering. People who believe in it are sheep.

No way will he do this. He does not even have the scientific credentials to be in such a debate in the first place. Why he should testify before Congress on global warming is beyond me.

Cato is a great think tank!

Ummm, it's funny you should bring this up just now. I saw him on the news because the senate hearings regarding global warming...and it was soooo funny. They had all they could do to keep from laughing at him.

If you go to http://www.comcast.net you will be able to see it for yourself. The senate subcommittee realizes there is a problem, and he brought up a new issue about the ice cap in the polar regions melting really fast. Problem is, this guy is too naive to listen to others who KNOW for a fact that the warming of the oceans is also being caused by daily earthquakes on the ocean floors. And this is happening all over....even in the Arctic and Antarctic.

When the rifts open, the water is subjected to extreme temperatures from the lava, which in turn is heating the oceans. But this guy just doesn't get it, AT ALL. So, in answer to your question...I believe that would be a no; AG isn't up to the truth. Why? Because you can't force people to buy products you have stock in for energy conservation, that's why. With the oceans and seas warming from the earth opening up, what the heck can anyone do about that? Well, that would be a big nothing.

Al Gore is not a scientist. He's never claimed to be a scientist. From what I know of Michael's he is a scientists so he should debate a colleague who disagrees with him on the issue.
Global Warming is a scientific issue, not a political one. However cons are constantly, desperately trying to make it about Al Gore and not about the science.

ALGORE doesn't have the balls to debate anyone ,who can counter his B S ,with scientific facts! There's big money in this, carbon-offsets, for big Al. It's a shame that he can justify his EXTREME use of energy,by paying for it! He expects us to cut down on energy consumption, but it's O K for he and his cronies to be energy hogs! By the way; when he buys his offsets,he buys it from his OWN COMPANY!! AGHHHHHH!!!!

Hey now, I'll have you know that Algore is allowed to have the most expensive personal electric bill in Tennessee because he buys "green hours".

Bwa ha ha. What ever that is.
