It takes 4-5 years. Most bachelors do. Engineering is one of the harder majors to condense down to 3 years, particularly at a larger school where it may be hard to get into all the classes you need.

It typically takes 4 to 5 years to obtain a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering. It can be done in 3 years but it requires you to go year round, no summer break.

However, the biggest thing you should concern yourself with if you're going for a Civil Engineering degree is not only the degree but the Professional Engineer's exam. That is preceeded by the Fundamentals of Engineering exam formerly known as the EIT (Engineer-in-Training) exam. Civil Engineers are required to be licensed and you won't make good money without a PE.

Lastly, most colleges are very selective in regards to selection of candidates for the program. Reason being is that the program requires a lot of work and dedication to learning. Even if you have that desire, you'll also need to know how to practically apply the knowledge. It is through the course work that people will be weeded out. If you can't survive the courses don't bother with Civil Engineering.

I endorse that you just get a Master's measure in something area you spot your self one day, after which upload a different MBA afterwards if feel it critical. It's wholly possible (that is what my dad did) and also you shop time. You say you wish a contemporary begin, however would not you get that in case you had been to visit graduate college immediately? You've come to this point, I fairly do not see the ought to backpedal to the factor you had been at 4 years in the past. Besides, might you fairly be inclined to retake all of the inflexible center standards from freshman and sophomore years? If you would not brain, oh good, opt for it, however in case you wish to listen to my recommendation - pass to graduate college!
