I am disabled and 50 and am living with parents who are in 70s. What would be alternative living arrangements?

I have a lung condition that requires special needs such as temperature and use of chemicals in the home and they do not want to comply. Also, we have moved away from where I have lived my whole life and I do not know my way around and they will not take me out except very early in the day and they know I do not get up that early. It is apparent they do not want to take me anywhere. My brother who works a lot will occasionally take me somewhere. I have only been out to eat maybe 6 times in a year and a half and they have already been out to eat 3 times this week. I am going out of my mind with boredom and anxiety.

I get $800/mo. disability. I am on oxygen and have limited mobility.

Have you checked into a "assisted living" place. They have activities and meals. It sounds perfect for you !!!!

Since you are diabled, you should also qualify for gov. assistance in living there. Head to your local social services office and see what they have to offer.

I try to think of this, with what I expect you to feel. I reccomend some kind or assisted living group home, where there are others to socilize with. I would want to have others around, at least to pay a game,,,or,,maybe get invited to a girl's room????? I bet, at 50, you have a little built up "tension", from not being able to get out, with women. Good luck. Bear in mind, they are getting to old to take care of you much longer.

Not enough info, do you have any source of income or disability benefits?? Assisted living center I would think..........
I don't think this question belongs in psychology, even though you are going crazy! Not that I can think of a better one.

If you could give some more details that would good. For instance do you have a Carer?
