Don't want to rain on everybody's parade but I would be hard pressed to name the best alive actor/ess in Greece today. Since the Great Katina Paxinou died in 1973 there has not been anybody male or female actor to get anywhere close to her. Of all the names so far mentioned here only Irene Papas comes close to qualifying The rest are TV and run of the mill comedy acting. very competent but definitely not great. The mettle of an actor is measured by his ability to handle classical stuff. Same with English theater. Shakespeare will make you ar break you. In Greece it's the likes Of Euripides, Sophocles, Aristophanes etc. They make you or break you and so far they have been breaking. Another who has passed the test is Anna Synodinou, and Condo who is new to the game but is doing well so far. Males No males to speak off. Veggos tried Aristophanes but Aristophanes did not like him.

I think Yannis Bezos. Especially in theatre plays. But also on TV. Maybe he doesn't take very serious roles for big actors on TV, but he has a lot of talent, which shows because without over-acting he "becomes" the person of the role. He totally convinces that he is either a happy gay boy or a mean and ruthless man like Tartuffe in the theatre. Without acting, just by his posture, his expression, etc.
Irene Pappa of course is the best female actress.

Irene Papas (Irene Papa) is in my opinion the best alive one.
Nicos Kourkoulos died a few months ago, so I do not have a favorite male.
There are a lot of young ones, but they are like shooting stars.
You like them today and tomorrow they disappear.
