A lot of them are just trolls, people who are out to provoke a response. Then you get the ones who’re religious and yes it’s true they do have an agenda. These people think we can just pray and we’ll all turn straight. Then if we’re straight we’ll go to heaven and it will be brownie points for them (because they’ve helped convert us from our evil perverted life). So to answer your question, no these people aren’t helping their cause. They are making people start to hate “all Christians” and this is sad because a lot of Christians are really nice people.
Danworth D; Since I’ve came onto this site I’ve been called a poof, f@ggot, shirt lifter, pervert, paedophile, fudge packer (in fact the list goes on and on). So it’s obvious that those people are ignorant, intolerant bigots. So what you’re saying to people like Paul and myself is “accept all that abuse and if you complain, you’re intolerant and bigoted yourself” (no comment).

I don't think bigoted, intolerant people do any good, anywhere. They teach hatred and ignorance to anyone who is willing to listen. They are not free thinkers, and have no motivation to making the world a better place, just more ignorant. They are just looking for a way to get people upset, by providing them with any emotional response we are allowing them to get to us. I ignore them, that is one ignorance I can afford to have.

if by "cause" you mean confirming to tens of thousands of people world wide what completely ignorant, hate-mongering bigots they are, then they did a good job of that! other than that, they are just completely pathetic losers who apparently have no friends and no life!

They are too fractured and lack any kind of structure. What the do manage to achieve though, is to galvanize the LGBT community. So I guess that ultimately, they are achieving the opposite of their goal.
