freedom of speech is applied to the goverment not being able to tell you what you can or cant say, if your place of emplorment doesnt except something, that is there choice i believe

If the company has changed there policy it doesn't matter if you already had the piercing. Was this in there policy when you started and they just let it slide? If so you still wouldn't really have a case. The only way you have any real footing is if there is no policy concerning piercings or appearance that would pertain to this and they all of a sudden decided you had to get rid of it. Then you might stand a little chance of going the route of discrimination.

But as for freedom of speech you have no such rights when representing a company. You are in contract with them. Freedom of speech does not mean you are protected from all consequences of your actions.

Sorry your work is doing this to you. Piercings are great. Wish there was something better you could do.

i dont belive that they have any laws about piercings but if youve been with them for many years and now they are threating you i would go to my union official and tell them also you can file for wrongful termination due to discremination act
