im interested.. im a huge camaro fan.
but if there is some oil on the top of the engine u should be warned that u might have to pop off the two valve covers and replace those.. should only take 20 mins or so...
and because the engine wont start you should know that it will have alot more wrong with it then the starter usuall, because it has been sitting in his grass for like.. 2 years most likely.. so be ready to replace and diagnose!
and gratz on 400$ mine was 1200 :P but it was a v8

Take it to like Napa auto parts they will test your starter for free and wipe off the oil around the gasket then take the car around the block and see if there is a fresh oil mark if so then it could be either 2 things blown head gasket or crack in the block which both r not good they cost more then the 400 your going to spend to buy it

The Bad dose'nt know his history....Camaros kept hotrodding alive and they always came with a V-6 option...from 67 to 69 , it was the 302...after that, it was the 305

i think that once you do get it, take it to the local body shop place and have the mechanics take a look at it and see if they see any problems with it. im looking for a car right now and i saw this really nice red one and its like 425 or something and im beginning to wonder what is wrong with it. its an OLDER model than what im used to seeing on the road, but, hey, as long as it runs im all good!!! lol good luck with ur car tho.

Offer him 450 with a good starter in it, if thats really the problem he shouldn't object to that. That sounds like a great deal though. Good luck.

if it doesn't start, then you have to ask..how long has it been sitting.... even though the body is in great shape, you may need to sink a fortune in things like engine / transmission / brakes / rad / etc.... so do you have money , time and ability to restore mechanically? if yes then go for it... it would be a great treasure
