Fred Thompson should run for the office of POTUS because 1) he's very intelligent; 2) he's very thoughtful; 3) he's got a conservative record; 4) it does not seem to me that his ego is involved in politics [unlike McCain or Kerry or Edwards, for examples].

I don't know enough about his stand on the issues yet. What I have heard sounds very good. He might be the closest thing to a conserative out there.
