I think that the majority of Americans would agree with you, myself included.

I say legalize it and then let the government tax it like they tax cigarettes.

I don't think so, in fact it would solve a multitude of problems if it were legalized. It's a freakin plant people.... It's worst detrimental effect is laziness and lack of ambition. If folks were permitted to grow and use whatever PLANT they chose, then we wouldn't have to worry about the proceeds funding terrorism either. I don't even smoke it anymore (though I still LOVE the smell and the beauty of the budding female plant).

The "dealers" that should be locked up are the pharmaceutical companies. Many more people DIE from anti-depressant suicide "side effect", and from heart conditions caused by ritalin. Very small amounts of THC would work better for ADHD and it wouldn't kill your kids.

No, it isn't right. But the people in charge aren't stupid, they're crafty. It would be too hard to make money on it if it were legal, as anyone could grow it at home (far easier than home brewing), and they can profit from tickets, jail space, ect. Alas, what a crazy world!!

The world is a strange place with its strange rules that do not make alot of since but what ya gonna do?Take the first rocket to outer space? Probably have lame azz rules there to.

Possession of pot is a misdemeanor and does not receive a prision sentence, only jail time, if even that. To receive a prision sentence, the posession would have to be great enough to be a felony and that would likely mean that the person is selling, distributing, and/or trafficing. If this is the case, then yes, they need to be in prision.

No, people shouldn't be put in prison for using pot. Instead of waiting till pot does nothing for them, then getting hooked on coke or speed and wasting countless dollars on them that could have been better spent on useful people, why not just give them an overdose and get rid of the useless scum there and then.

I personally think its a giant waste of tax payer money. I can understand huge dealers but the normal joe thrown in jail for a ounce of marijuana is rather dumb to me. I know of a few situations where people who committed rape got out faster than people who had 2 ounces of marijuana on them. Simply SILLY!
