I have to write a creative essay for a class... but i am pretty clueless. what is a creative essay exactly? and what would be a good idea for one?

Creative Essays
A creative essay is written to show one’s creativity. When you consider it all essays are creative in the way the student takes the information and forms the essay. However, this type of essay usually describes the imagination of the writer. These essays are often assigned by the teacher to get to know the student.
A Sample Paragraph of a Creative Essay
The moon was bright and the sky was lit up with stars. Across the horizon was a flying object. Could it be an UFO or was it just a plane in the sky. A little ways away the object landed. Out walked two space aliens. The aliens walked into town seeking people to kidnap and take back to their planet. The aliens would sprinkle stardust on a sleeping person, which would transfer the person onto the space ship. After the aliens caught several people they made their travel back to the alien universe.
This is a sample paragraph of a creative essay about space aliens and their kidnapping different people to take back to the alien universe. The writer used her imagination to create this essay.

A creative essay does not include a persuasive essay. When the topic or form of the paper is too defined, it ceases being creative. I don't know if there is any essay that isn't personal on some level. Most everyone incorporates their own opinions and views into the work of writing, giving it a personal element. In my mind, a creative essay, while it may be loosely defined by a teacher or professor, it usually comes completely from the imagination of the student. In my experience, a creative essay ceases to be creative when you pull other sources into it, as this is building on the research and arguments of other scholars. This eliminates persuasive essays from the realm of creative essays. Narrative essays and descriptive essays are ones I'd include in the Creative essay genre; most of the time they relate a personal experience. I believe a creative essay is easier because it takes less grunt work. All you have to do to prepare is organize your thoughts and ideas, create an outline, and then write away. Persuasive essays can require up to several hours worth of collecting and analyzing relevant sources to include in your paper to support your argument, and then organizgin ideas, the outline, and the drafting process.

a creative essay does not jus come all of a sudden...
language skills have to be nurtured and fed well with reading good books and having a healthy attitude towards it..
newayz you can still write a really creative essay on how you spent your vacations last summer
you can elaborate on where you went.. choose on a really descriptive place
then talk about the classes that you joined the things you made or learnt
in the end remember that you are talking with the essay reader.. so just write as if you are talking to somebody
and your pen go zooming on the paper...

It's like a story. What are you interested in? Use that and develop it from there. Word of advice. At the end don't write 'he woke up and it was all a dream'. Worst thing you can do.

generally a written essay is only words. In advanced courses I have seen photos, timelines, lexicons, or other additions, but this is unusual and is to be used ONLY if absolutely necessary, and only if the professor gives permission for such additions. hope this helps.

keep it orignally as much as you can and write freely in whatever you want to write and follow that mind to paper and be loose .then that will be your rough darft and write another one proof read it then polish it up with a third
