It is simply difficult for our minds to relax when we are constantly worrying about things. When we let go of our worries and put them out of our minds for a while, we are more able to sleep. That's why some people fall asleep while watching TV or reading books; those things capture our attention and distract us from the worries in our lives. We must learn to take 'vacation' from our worries to be able to function.
