You are right; only someone with half of a brain can think that alcohol is worse than pot.

Because it makes people calm, peaceful, and happy- plus it helps you to see things from other perspectives. The last thing a warmongering government wants.

Why do they say people get paranoid off it? Because it's illegal and if you break the law enough in any way you will get paranoid about being caught and locked up.

Why do they say it damages your brain? So when you realise things that others don't people can call you deluded, stupid or crazy. And not listen to you (and carry on going about their day to day lives- never noticing the little things, which are often the most important things).

Why do they say it causes depression? As the people who use it often start off because they are depressed to BEGIN WITH- they take it in order to make themselves happy and to forget their troubles, if only for a little while. Usually when other treatments fail. Who doesn't do that with booze?

If it were legal it would not be a gateway drug- as it's the dodgy dealers who get you other things, but if you could buy it in a shop: no dealers- no hard drugs.

It was first used in China about 7000 years ago- so don't tell me it hasn't been around for long or used that much. George Washington himself passed a law making it MANDATORY for all farmers to grow hemp, as it was a vital resource back then (fibers can be used for almost anything- from clothes to paper, rope to soap).

Many many people have died from alcohol poisoning, but there has not been one reported case EVER of somebody being poisoned/dying from cannabis use. You would have to be beaten in round the head with a kilo block of hash in order to die from it. If you say it's bad for you, smoking anything is bad for your body, as you put carbon in your lungs BUT if you eat it- completely non-toxic.

Legalize!

because the goverment cant make money off it. People can make there own in a matter of months there for not need ing to go to the store to bye it. yeah ppl can make there own booze but its a long and time consuming process. also it would be eaiser for minnors to get of hold of it and use it . its would be harder for police to control its usage and to detect it when someone is really stoned or baked while driving because it lingers in the system longer so they dont know if you did it 3days ago or 10 mins ago

Because marijuana is available from so many sources that the US government would have a difficult time controlling and regulating it. If they hadn't gotten involved in cigarettes in the beginning of tobacco mass production, then they would be illegal also.

Alcohol in moderation is not at all detremental to your health!
Over indulging is! A glass of wine with the humblest of meals
can seem like a banquet!

Alcohol has been a social acceptable form of intoxicant since forever and is even ingrained into religion while pot doesn't have that history.

because it is an illlegal drug and the government knows that if they were to pass a law to make mary jane legal that all the inmates who have been convicted of selling marijuana they would have to cut them loose and the government can not afford to have all those convicts running around the streets of america the gov/states would loose billions of dollars if that bill were to pass making marijuana legal why do you think prison doors are always open to welcome society in and if you think about it the gov. supplies the drugs and weapons its all about the money
