Ha ha, I so wish I knew why animals do that, my old golden retriever does it, tripped over her many a time then she has the nerve to look at me like I should have x-ray vision.

It's protecting you, should an intruder try to get to your room it will trip over the cat, the cat will squall like hell and awaken you and alert you to danger, give that cat an extra portion in his/her bowl daily!

Yes , my cat's worse. I wake up in the middle of the night and he's sat on my chest just staring at me , well creepy!

Cats will do ANYTHING to get attention - just watch out as you step over him, in case he grabs a foot as you go by!

My cat is telling me, quite literally as I type, that this is purely an ancient attention grabbing trick. No harm intended, basically the trick has never been perfected or fully understood.

He is playing a sick game.Im sure he is very aware he has 9 lives and you only have one.you want to show him who is boss or you could wind up with a broken neck at the bottom of the stairs
