My husband helps me putting on my coat, pushes my chair in behind me and always walks on the bit of the pavement nearest the road so i dont get sprayed by passing cars.he is a real gentleman. Some people just look in horror but I think its lovely.

I like a man who holds the door open for me. Someone who is a real gentleman. Takes my hand when climbing over a wall, that kind of thing !! All the old school stuff really. I'm very traditional in that sense. Having said that I don't want him to be a door mat either. He has to have a good personality and sense of humour too

I don't even have to be the recepient.
1. Opens doors for the elderly/ women/ people with both hands full.
2. Offers seat to an elderly/ pregnant/ physically challenged/ female.
3. Assists in putting on a female's coat.
4. Offers to carry packages for the lady/ elderly.
5. Walks closest to the traffic to protect his companion from getting splashed.
6. Pays for at least the first three meals.
7. Makes sure that his companion is safely inside the building before driving off.

most men still hold doors open for me even if i don't have an arm full of things
as a mother of a 14 yr old son i have tried over the yrs to just teach him respect not for just females but ppl in general
i have gotten alot of compliments from others even strangers that he is a very nice polite boy some even say i wish my son/grandson would be like him
not saying sometimes in the house or car/outside of public eye he gets mouthy
a good wack or mommy eye is all he needs

I still appreciate a man who will hold a door open for me. I hope that never dies out. And no matter who the man is that holds the door, I ALWAYS say "Thank you."
I love that my bf always takes my arm when we go down or up stairs, so that if I trip he has hold of me. I love that my bf always places his hand on my shoulder when we are navigating through crowds. I love that my bf always walks on the outside (traffic side) when we take our daily walks. I love that my bf will help me on with my coat. He even holds my purse for me if need be!
And I love that when we hear strange noises in the house at night, my chivalrous bf always protects me by sending the dogs out to investigate first! ;-)

Not a lot women still like men that have good manners,
are good in the sack, are loving and giving, are able
to work help pay the bills, are able to go dutch, can
read a restaurant menu and sometimes carry a parcel.....
Alternatively to catch you when you fall, there are men out
there that know the ways of treating a women, and there
are men out there today, that think a women can do it all,
I personally like a man who is there for me, as I have never
really experienced it in any of my relationships......................
We as women are liberated, but I MYSELF, love a man
who is both manly and able to be gentle and kind and
giving at the same time, I SEE it in my friends husbands
all the time.........the men of yesterday that did things for
a women are what I crave today, even while I can do things
for myself.....there are always times when we need someone
to lean on and hold onto...............................................................

I still feel good when a man holds a door for me. A true sign of a man is one that will hold your purse for you! The thing I can't stand is being called ma'am when I am a young 43!

I love it when a man opens my door, and stands when I enter the room. Right up there is helping me on with my coat and pulling out my chair. Not that this is chivilrous but just good manner that make me feel special.

None, it is an act of kindness to open the door or just hold the door for a lady, or for anyone for that matter.
But i think holding a ladies chair while they sit is passe and it implies that ladies are just alittle off balance.. but in honesty i guess we kinda are, so please dont stop holding my seat..
