Uncontrolled cell division makes leukemia function differently from a healthy cell. Leukemia is a type of cancer. Cells of leukemia are immortal cells(=proliferates continuously). And oncogenes, which are products of mutation, are responsible for cancer.

Autoimmunity, on the other hand is a result of the failure of our immune system to delete or tolerize an autoreactive lymphocyte. leukemia is wbc which has lost its control of dividing so it divides continuosly where as normal cell will have check points

basically those cells take a very long time to die when compared to the normal cells.
