I've had mine for just about 5 years now... I Love it, use to be real excited and match it to my outfit... now I basically wear one most of the time. Yes, they cant be unsanitary... if you don't brush your teeth, or clean the jewelry. I work in a professional setting and still have it in. Don't see how it could be unprofessional... unless u play with it often, like newly pierced people tend to do until they get used to it. I think they're hot... would like my girl to have one, but its no prerequisite. :)

I remember when I got my tongue peirced in Alphabet City the summer of 1997.....It was one of the best things I ever did at a twentysomething. I worked my tongue! So those who have tongue rings utilize them for good deeds. Unfortunately the Spring of 1998 I laid to rest my tongue ring because I was getting a job in the corporate sector and you know that was a NO-NO back then.

I'm too wussy to get one, but have always wanted to date someone with a tongue piercing. They're very hot and totally float my boat!

I have one and i didn't affect my speech at all. I only got it while I'm at uni for the next few years and then once I have to be all professional...out it goes! I have nothing against them, but I have a very big dislike of people who roll them around the front of their teeth and out their mouth. I got mine because I wanted to and I can't stand people flashing them around like "look at me, look at me"....keep it in your mouth.

They're very unsanitary.

Did you know there are more numerous and different bacteria in your mouth than on a public toilet seat or a dog's behind?

The piecing is fine the only thing I don't like is people who have them and play with them constantly with their teeth and lips.

They seem to affect your spelling and grammar - I think they slipped you a lead one. You might want to have that checked.
