Just wondering I heard it can happen but I don't understand how it would since the period is the body releasing eggs.

It's not likely... since the egg is fertile for only so many days during her ovulation cycle, which will normally occurs a week or two before the period starts and what you are releasing during the 'menstrual cycle' is expired eggs. But it is not unheard of to have an ovulation at the same time as the menstrual cycle.

Let's face it. It's a biological fact that a woman can get pregnant at any time during her cycle. She could be on day three of her period and still have sex. Just because you started your period the day after you had unprotected sex does not mean the egg has left your body. The egg can linger in your body long after your cycle has ended, and just become reabsorbed. So, the egg can still be fertilized and you can still become pregnant. It is a less likely occurrence, to be sure. But, if you are worried you might be pregnant, the best thing you can do is take a test.

Not typically. While the egg is good for a brief period in the ovulation cycle, sperm, on the other hand, have been known to survive several days (1 week or more). Even if you're active days before you ovulate or after, sperm cells can remain alive and impregnate the egg next time it is released by the ovary. This is not that rare.

There is always a chance that you will get pregnant with unprotected sex. Usually, a woman ovulates 2 weeks after her first day of bleeding, but that can be different for every woman. Sperm can stay alive for up to five days.

So although it is not likely you will get pregnant, as a released egg is only viable for about twenty- four hours, it is not something to write off entirely.

i dont think there is no chance of pregnancy because since you're having having your period, you are releasing somatic cells. And if you're releasing somatic cells then an offspring may not be formed.
