1. Most wrestling fans grew up watching it as kids. Many things you do as a kid you want to do when you grow up, or you at least keep watching it when you grow older....Adults still watch cartoons.
2. The final yeals of the TV wars when wrestling was the most watched programs on TV their was a lot of attitude. DX, NWO, The Rock, Stone Cold.....The Rock always gave funny segements that actually didn't involve wrestling. Stone Cold people like seeing a guy say **** you to his boss then kick his boss ***. DX was similar to stuff like on MTV or maybe even a South Park. The whole we got two words for you...suck it. Of course their is the women. Some of the most beautiul women in entertainment are in wrestling.
Most wrestling fans know it is fake. Like watching a martial arts movie is fake. The only difference is that is a different type of action. Plus their is a lot of violence. Getting hit in the head with chairs. I don't think there is a whole lot you can do to fake that when they actually get hit. Although some guys will put their hands in the way to take away some of the impact.
Basically it just something that wrestling fans enjoy. Nobody stops watching TV shows or movies because what they see if fake.

In fact, the former name of the present WWE was WWF (World Wrestling Federation). The funny thing is, in those years they still bear that name, the 'fakeness' of the stunts is their MAJOR secret. But then, there came a time when people realized that they were fooling their audience, they immediately changed their name to WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) so as not to lose their fans..
I just think that wrestl ing is so stupid..

its not fake. it's scripted. there is a difference. fake would be someone jumping off a table only it's really a 2X4 on the ground with a blue screen to make it look like a table or a ladder or something. and if you dont like wrestling, why bother even worrying about whether you think its fake or not?

its like a movie.. or soap opera.. most of the people that go watch wrestling are like the same people that watch movies.. they go to see a show.. it says it right in the name.. entertainment is what its all about.. you can think what you want about wrestling but it sure isnt gonna change the minds of a loyal wrestling fan.. the way some people follow movie stars is the same way wrestling fans follow their favorite superstar.. and alot of them do have real wrestling backgrounds..

Why is wrestling popular? Because it is FUN!! What on TV isn't fake? I guess you'll have loads of fun watching the Discovery channel!

dude, would u seriously rather watch someone really kiss his butt kicked with real blood and junk or watch the scripted version. beside aint all of it fake. batista really got hurt early jan 2006. HHH is really hurt this year and will be out until at least june

i agree but its not the fight the people r bothered abt, its the drama behind the fight.its jst like the movies but the difference is all the stunts r done in frnt of them no graphic effects at all.jst like the soaps they keep the drama unfolding every week.
