yes, allan y is very correct in saying that education is a right not a privilege for the very few who can afford to "buy" education. we're not even suppose to be paying tuition fees in school, know why? because it is a basic social service that should be provided by the government because we're doing our part as citizens- that is to pay our taxes and in return the government should provide all the basic social services needed by it's people. part of which is to provide jobs, housing, health services including education.we're not a socialist country, but that is how a system like us should work.
and in increasing the tution fees, they're not only putting the burden for our parents but for the whole family as well.increase in tuition fee would mean lesser expenses on other things. there are cases, where in one of the kids have to stop going to school in order for the other sibling to finish school.
increase in tuition would also mean less children would finish school and worst bigger percentage of kids who wouldn't be able to learn to read and write.

Simple. To make education affordable to majority of the Filipinos. Education is a right for every citizen in any civilized country, not just a privilege made available to just a few. These few rich and middle class families who can pay the prohibitive prices which are almost international in rates, applied to third world country where the monthly salaries are way way below the daily rates in developed countries.

we prohibited to increase the tuition fee in the philippines because...
.... there are some schools who cannot even ensure that their students compose a simple question with the proper grammar and yet charge exuberant rates

education should be a right and not a privilege. both government and church owned educational institutions should provide affordable and quality education to the people. although education is big business in the philippines, social justice and equity should be the foremost consideration in determining tuition fees.
