Globally, people will riot, burn, sabotage, vandalise (often humoursly), fill with manure (vive la Fermier France!) anything McDonald's!
Yet, Coke, Krispy Kreme, Pepsi, Fanta, Burger King, etc is considered fine.
Why do you think this is- is it because the others are far less exploitative and keen on introducing GM-food?
or it simply matches most people's palates?
and/or compliments indigenous cuisine?
and/or has offered diet versions for a longer time?
more culturally sensitive?

Note: I'm English but I'm referring to countries outside the UK and the US- such as Asian, India, Middle-East, etc

Presumable because when ordering fried chicken, one has an idea of what one is about to be served. A grease soaked, bland fibre dosed with hormones and antibiotics that obtains some little flavour from the batter.
The hamburger however, whose very name is a misnomer as it should not contain any ham, is a leap into the unknown. I shall not speculate as to the contents as McDonald's have already shown their willingness to spend millions of dollars on legal actions to silence their critics.
Personally, I would rather stick to that most traditional of British fare, curry accompanied by a bottle of Cobra.
Better to support entrepreneurs from the Empire than US purveyors of unhealthy, bland stomach filler that has succeeded in the UK primarily by marketing directly to children.

I have been to McDonalds in Serbia, France, Israel, Romania,
El Salvador,etc......No, I don´t particularly like the food, but I appreciate the familiarity in a strange palce. I know I will get a mediocre meal at a decent price.
Guess what ? Everyone I have been to has been very busy. The world, despite the vocal opposition, obviously loves McDonalds. Why ? Salt , fat and sugar taste good to most people.
Odd thing. I have had KFC in Czech Republic, England, Mexico, Panama, etc and it is always better than KFC in USA.
Anyone needing to empTy their bowels should visit KFC in the USA.

I think it's simply because outside of the American Flag, nothing represents America more than that pedophiliac smiling clown and his golden arches. It makes sense to bash a McDonald's outside the UK or US in an attempt to make an anti America statement. LOL Or perhaps, it's just because their food sucks worse than the rest. I don't know.

I've seen many campaigns against KFC because of their treatment of chickens.. I've heard of burned out Burger Kings after anti-American riots.
However, few things symbolize America as potently as McDonalds in the popular imagination (even though many of their restaurants are locally owned under franchise)

I dont know where you are from...I'm guessing France because you mention France...but here in the USA McDonalds is loved. (and so is KFC)
Anything is okay in moderation. I have McDonalds maybe once a month, if that. Even then it's chicken or salad.

Everything you mentioned is fattening. I stay away from all of it. America is becoming a nation of overweight and obese people, health problems are skyrocketing. In answer to your question, I hate McDonald's. The pickle is bigger than the meat on the burger.

I agree a large percentage of peoplee love eating chicken rather than a burger with beef i strongly think not a lot of peopl;e like beef because of the fat it consists of. and some beef can increase blood pressure and high cholesterol. chicken has a lot of hormones and it can increase energy.

Really, people eat that crap? Don't you know that fast food is really just an elaborate (and profitable) joke on the rest of the world?
Just goes to show that it all comes down to brand name recognition - the product itself means nothing
