My friend ran away from home about 6 weeks ago. He went a bit crazy, said there was no point living, unless you were living off the land, like we were meant to.
He is living down the beach with his dog, he surfs and fishes all day, he only eats what he catches. He says he is making his own surfboard out of a tree he cut down, he will throw away his good one once hes made it, Jeff said he would have his old one.
We are starting to worry about him, like I said he only eats fish, and somedays he doesnt catch anything. He ate a fish that washed up because he was so hungry, and it made him really sick. He refused to go to a doctor or to hospital, he keeps going on about being natural, and living off the land blah blah blah
How can I convince him to move home?
He has really lost it I think, he sees no hope in the world, unless you are struggling to survive in the wild, he says its what he was born to do

Wow...he isn't crazy that is what I am going to say. He is different. But tell him there are people who worry about him and tell him to go to the hospital to get better because you care about him.

I think that he is just sick of technology and money and everything he left behind to "live off the land". What I would do is call the police and tell them to arrest him because he ran away. If he does get arrested he will be probally be really mad. But then you have to think it a differnt way though because you are helping him your not trying to just get him in jail like he thinks what your doing it for. After the police arrest him and you have a chance to talk to him just tell him that everyone needs you, your sick, after awhile your dog is going to get sick, he needs 3 meals a day, and everyone loves him and you really want to take him to the doctor because you don't want him hurt.Also meanwhile if he starts yelling this is not the right time to tell him how you feel. But if he yells later on keep calm, no name calling, like your a retard for living off the land or anything like that.KEEP CALM!thats a huge part of this. He will probally take you advice and go home. If he dosen't he will "live off the land" after a while and he will probally go home. So use this help. I am 99.9% that this will work. that .1 though still has a chance no to go home.Hope i helped!

get him in a straight jacket, bundle him into a white van and send him to a mental institute. r sit with him and listen to what he has to say.

i think your friend has gone nutts....dont convince him to move home.convince him to go to the mental hospital while theres still hope.
