Although I haven't heard them all yet, my favourite remains the 5th, even after hearing the 4th, 6th, 8th and 9th.

I like The Symphony No. 8 in E flat major, Symphony of a Thousand.
Love that big E flat major chord on the organ at the start

I like no.2, the Resurrection Symphony.
I find Mahler heavy going, and haven't listened to all the symphonies yet.
I've only got up to no. 5

I'm fond of the 4th because of the lyrics. I'm fond of the 2nd because it's great to sing. The 8th is overwhelming, so I don't know if fond isn't too tame a word.

the 5th i actually played the trumpet solo as a joke when we were starting an orchestra rehersal the conductor smiled
