I hate to say this but you would be better to buy two separate machines. This a lot less bother as with the washer/dryer if one goes wrong so does the other.

Can't tell you what is best but i have never had a good experience with them - they all smell funny in the drying mode! The best washer I had was indesit very cheap and dryer was white knights condenser, but we had a kitchen put in then there was no room. I would advise separate even if you place a condenser in your bedroom, the dry cycle of washer dryers go on forever and while its drying you can't wash any more

Good Luck

It is best if possible to buy seperate machines but if you can't then stay away from the following:

Hoover
Indesit
Hotpoint
Creda
Ariston
Servis

I have worked as an engineer for all these companies. I am sorry that this doesn't leave you with much choice. I would also stay away from white Knight and Bosch . Meile are supposed to be good but are very expensive.
My recommendation would be to go for a Beko machine (but I don't know if they do a W/D.
Also buy your product from Asda or Costco if possible for a no hassle return policy of up to 3 years.

Best Wishes and Good Luck

Can't tell you what the best is but don't go for Hoover HNWL 7166.
We just got one 2 days ago and we are not impressed , the dryer takes hours to dry, and the clothes smell of burning even when still wet.

I like Zanussi. I have just replaced my old model after 10 years - and it was second hand when we bought it then. It was actually still working when we replaced it (although only just!) - we have bought another zanussi washer dryer! Can't remember the model but it was reasonable at £338. Hope this helps!

The dryer never works on a washer/dryer so just buy a washer it will be cheaper.
