As we know muslims claim Islam to be a religion of peace.
Can any one of these moderate Muslims explain why the whole country of Iran is behind its nuclear program?
Please bear in mind that Iran has not even started building its nuclear power plant but seems to need huge amounts of enriched fuel.
Oh and the little thing about the leader saying Israel should be wiped off the face off the earth.
What we observe is an Islamic country bent on violence.
It does not seem valid to me to claim Isl;am is a religion of peace where everywhere we look all evidence shows the opposite.

You ask about peace-loving Muslim moderates.

Political realists see that Muslim “moderates” are more patient than Muslim extremists. The “moderates” merely prefer a phased strategy for Israel’s demise. This makes Mahmoud Abbas a “moderate” and Ismail Haniyeh an “extremist.”

The litmus test of a Muslim moderate is this: Does he or she publicly avow the legitimacy of the Jewish State of Israel? And does he or she publicly reject the Arab “right of return”which is but a code word for Israel’s destruction? You will not find a politically or strategically significant number of such Muslims.

All the talk about Muslim “moderates” is little more than escapism and obscurantism. Terrorism is coextensive with Islam: in Iraq and Iran, in Syria and Lebanon, in Algeria and the Sudan, in Chechenya and Indonesia.

Meanwhile, in mosques across the United States, imams preach hatred of Christians and Jews; some even call for Jihad.

This denial of the enormity of evil may be attributed to hedonism and moral cowardice. Once you acknowledge such evil you cannot simply ignore the imperative to fight against itwhich may cost you your comfort as well as your life.

Of course the denial of evil has been spawned by the academic doctrine of moral relativism, a doctrine most prevalent among the democratic and cultural Left. In relation to Israel, however, the moral relativism of the Left has metamorphosed into moral reversal. Notice how left-wing dominated media portray Israel as the villain in its conflict with the Arabs. This is paradoxical.

After all, the democratic and cultural Left is diametrically opposed to the totalitarianism of Islamic culture. So why this animus against Israel?

IIsrael disturbs the Left. The cultural Left cannot deny the greatness of biblical “literature,” the lofty visions of the prophets, their concern for the poor, the widow and the orphan.

But the Left, steeped in a decayed cosmopolitanism, abhors Jewish particularism. The more so since this particularism, structured by Jewish law, coexists with an indefatigable yet genial affirmation of moral truths or standards concerning how man should live--something intolerable to hedonists and moral relativists.

Their are reasonable reasons to explore nuclear energy for power production. I agree that the comments about wiping Isreal off the face of the planet need to be addressed sternly. I also agree that the entire Islamic Middle East seems bent on violence. FYI I am not Muslim, but Roman Catholic.

I would say that every muslim can be duped into being offended at jibes to the muslim religion. I am scared that Iran might take offence to the least little thing and decide to nuke whoever said it. If Iran had nuclear capability when the pope said that muslims were not the true religion of the world I wonder would the vatican of been nuked.

The same reason the US, UK and other western countries need enriched uranium. The US wouldnt listen to the international community if it was told to disarm its nuclear missiles, just like Iran isnt listening. Its a no-win situation for innocent people who may well get nuked. All countries should cease nuclear weapons programs. If these countries have to fight, then fight fair.

The answer is not that simple! You can not be biased based on the faith of the leadership of a country. The question of ethical use of Nuclear Fuel is far greater than just Iran, Russia or US. Partly it is because of rebellion against US domination and one of the reasons US dominates is its massive military power including its huge nuclear arsenal. And the problem is complicated and aggravated by the fact that US is issuing threats left right and center to all countries that don't align itself rather than cooperate with these nations and solve problems through diplomacy, probably based on the current favorite view in Washington...everybody who says no is terrorist and men in power have done it themselves, they chose to take extreme military steps after 9/11, a rather acute views of things rather than look at the bigger picture they chose to look at it through the terrorist telescope. This is just my 2 cents.

For the same reason why we have it here in UK and also the USA and elsewhere - to blow people up with and destroy our enemies if they come calling with a nuke.

The US/UK argument against Iran having nuke is that they are thought to be unstable and more likely to allow nuke materials to fall into the hands of terrorists. Iran is already supplying terrorists in Iraq - if they get nuke stuff, they'll supply that too. You do not need a nuke weapon. You can easily make a 'dirty bomb' using enriched uranium - exactly what Iran is doing right now.

Iran is surrounded by countries who already have atomic bombs. There are thousands of potentially hostile troops to the east, in Afghanistan. Many thousands more to the west, in Iraq.
If they followed the example of North Korea and got themselves an atomic bomb, they'd be less easily bullied by countries such as the USA.

Islam is NOT a religion of peace. Just take a look at the facts:
those cartoons--> the Muslims started protesting in a violent way, even killing people
the quote from the Pope, which WAS a goddamn quote, so the Pope didn't said what he thought he said what someone else said, but the stupid muslims started again to protest violently.
and how can you explain that every suicide bomber is muslim?
are suicide bombers peaceful? I don't think so. the truth is, they cant accept anything which goes against islam, attacking instead anyone. I cant believe my eyes when I see all these idiotic thing happen with muslims here in Britain., not only they have too many privileges, but they, especially the fu...g Muslim council of britain, want even more. and a poll showed that an increasing number of muslims want sharia law in britain. to all of you muslims in britain, why don't you go back in your countries ? you have everything you want there. not only were muslims allowed here due to the stupidness of the
government back then, but now they want to transform britain.
I have seen already utterly STUPID things like a council renaming Christmas "winterval", nativity scenes where everything was changed, including the baby , everything. and other like this.

they will only be happy when all the world will be a islamic one but it seems here in britain some stupid people are already helping them.
