can someone help me to share their information about which one (Taipei or Hong Kong) is the best place for shopping? Coz i heard from my friends that Hong Kong is the best place for shopping if compare with Taiwan and also the stuff in Hong kong(Clothes etc) is more cheaper than Taiwan.

I agree with the guy above. Taipei has many many department stores some of them have just recently opened - in them you can find all of the most fashionable stuff (it's real so you have to pay for it).
There's more chance you'll end up with fake brands from HK as HK is renound for fake brands and copies DVDs...
On the other hand you can buy clothes very cheaply at night markets, Ximen-Ding and Wufenpu.
Taiwan has more influence from Japanese fashion.
At the end of the day, it's up to you where you fancy going.
I know HK has a beautiful skyline, but there's more to do in and around Taipei.

each has unique things to search for.
personally I like the taste in clothing in Taiwan more than out in Hong Kong, and I find it cheaper here. But I was in the touristy areas in HK when I went.
In taiwan and HK you can go to night markets for REALLY cheap stuff. The normal malls and hypermarkets also have decent bargains on clothes compared to what you would pay in Western countries and HK.
From what I hear HK is more expensive in general but has some bargains if you search for them. It really depends what you specifically are looking for.
-HK has the advantage for 'foreign' sized people. It offers shoes in western people sizes and a larger selection of plus sized clothes. (HK also is easier to navigate with better signage for most people) A few westerners I speak to here have issues finding shoes and appropriate suits in their sizes in Taiwan easily.
I still prefer it here. I like the climate and I dont have any size issues myself, I eat a balanced diet and am a standard issue sized kinda guy (so far) LOL. I also find it more interesting here with many new tiny shops surprising me every day if i go down any random street near my house whenever I feel like it.
if what you want is really cheap cool clothes go to Thailand!

hong kong for sure.
I'm from HK and visited Taiwan and designed to do some shopping few months ago. But you know what the fashion there is 20 years behind us...really...
no offend
but ofcoz Japan is ahead HK as well. But the prices of the clothes in HK are comparably cheapest!

Taiwan has some great stuff on sale all year round in places like Wufenpu and Ximenting. The fashion here is better than in HK.
Branded stuff is generally very conservative.
The food here is also great not just Dim Sum and Congee !!

THere are many fake products in Taiwan and they're all damn easy, like LV, Gucci. And Taipei 101 has got Almost every famous brand in the world.
