The usns Capella is a vehicle carrier built in Rotterdam in 1972 and flies an American flag and is ABS(Americas) class. She is approx. 288m long, 32m wide and has a draft of 10.6m. Her gross tonnage is 48143(tonnes) and has DWT of 25407. I don't know too much about her movements but if she has sailed to England it was before December 1995 since then she has been in Jacksonville(USA) to Gibraltar, United Arab Emirates and Turkey.

I spent most of the summer of 1991 loading U.S. Army aircraft and captured Iraqi aircraft on ships at the port of Daharan, in the Kindom of Saudi Arabia. One of them was the USNS Capella.
