I am a guy thats had a friendship with a woman for 26 years. we even have double dated. we tried to date once and we laughed about it till this day. we are not compatable in any intimate way but on the friendship level. we conect. we grew up together and we have both been married... me a couple times. shes stayed with hers for around 28 years.. we talk on the phone at least once a week and her husband is a friend of mine.. my wife didnt care for her much but put up wtih her for my sake.. but anyway. certain friendships can last a lifetime if you keep sex out of it. no lust is allowed either cause that changes everything

If I had more information, it would be easier to answer. Most friendships between men and women happen for two reasons. I am assuming that this is a friendship between a man and a woman, not two couples.
1. They find each other compatible and like to just hang out together. This kind of friendship will often bloom into more intense feelings simply because the two people are compatible. Unfortunately, the relationship is usually destroyed at this point because one person won't explore the possibility of a more physical relationship. Or, they are too stubborn or scared to tell the other one their feelings, so the relationship is destroyed because they are just too stubborn or scared to try.
2. The second kind of friendship usually happens because one person has strong feelings and the other doesn't. The one who doesn't, uses the other one until he or she finally realizes that he or she is never going to be anything more to the other person.

well..1) friendships last for a very long time if u wish them to be....but relationship never get on for222222 long.....all it brings is pain n sadness after it is over........
2) friendships can be resolved by saying sorry n meaning it but relationshipss hardly ever get resolved as when they are broken either of the person has got hurt a lot!!!!!!!
3) friendship is like a flowing river, goes on forever untill you build a dam (end it)
So i guess friendship is wonderful even more wonderful than LOVE!!!!!!

Um, I've had strictly friendships with girls and lasted very long, some are still going, etc.
I've had relationships with girls that have turned bad cause either I got a thing for her, or she's got feelings for me. Sometimes we'll hook up...I've heard it's one of the best ways to start a relatinship, but it's never worked for me.
For me, I accept many friends along with their faults; and I usually ignore their faults cause that's what friends are for. But then I start goign out with them, and faults become pretty clear....but that's just me.

It will last as long as you (both) want it to... Why should a friendship with a man be any different than a friendship with a woman...
