Is this the first movie this line has been used in, did he get it from another movie / or another character
or
Is this line one of Bruce Campbell's "running jokes" that repeats in many of his feature movies, or is that the ONLY time he's used that line?
Thank you,
T

That line was also used in the movie Army of Darkness (1992) Bruce Campbell as Ash ---------Ash: Maybe. Just maybe my boys can protect the book. Yeah, and maybe I'm a Chinese jet pilot.

Hope this helps :)

I don't recall Bruce ever using that line before. I think he and Sam Raimi just came up with the line, and then liked it so much they reused it in the sequel.

And technically, Evil Dead 2 IS a sequel, not a remake. It retells the first film in the first 10 minutes, kind of like a recap. Granted, they change some of the story (Ash & his girlfriend now go to the cabin alone, as opposed to going with friends, and Ash survives his brush with the demon in the woods), but the rest of the film is a sequel. They did the same thing with Army Of Darkness, changing the ending of 2 (no daughter of archeologist, medievil soldiers now fear Ash as opposed to worship him).

Pixie,
If I understand your question correctly, you are asking if Bruce Campbell got the line from another movie, or did he make it up to re-use over and over again?

I don't think it was borrowed from another movie persay, but it was written for him. I think it's one of his "running jokes".

it is said in "army of darkness" the 3rd of the evil dead movies, or 2nd if you know that 1 and 2 are the same movie but 2 had more of a budget.
