The planet isn't in danger, humanity might be.
Re-use water for flushing the toilet.
Recycle whatever can be recycled in this district.
Re-use if practical, rather than recycle. (baby milk formula tins, are great for storing anything from dried fruit to packs of sweets).
Rarely use a car, or even public transport, either walk or cycle.
Use lower energy light bulbs where practical. There is a security switch in one room which doesn't work with low energy bulbs.
Buy from jumble sales, reusing other peoples stuff.
If I could afford it, I would install solar, and or wind energy producers.
Will fit new water heater time switch, to enable me to have it on less often.
Will get cavity wall installation.
That's all I can think of at present.

Whats the point? We are a tiny island bending over backwards to try and singlehandedly save the planet by recycling (which i dont have a problem with by the with) use our cars less and use public transport instead? Because we all know how clean and smoke free your average bus is. I nearly choked when I was caught behind one not long ago (somebody tell me what was the point converting to unleaded petrol then if it is still a pollutant) Using CFC free aerosols, the list is endless.
Meanwhile giant countries such as America and China keep billowing out cr@p into the atmosphere like it is going out of fashion.
If everyone in Britain stopped using their cars, stopped using electricity and stopped doing everything that is supposedly harmful to the environment, it wouldnt even make a dent in the rate of global warming. We are so tiny in global terms that I honestly dont think anything we do will have any kind of impact.
And now being environmentally friendly and green has been taken on by the political parties as a vote winning tool and even by some companies as a fashion label, How long before we all get sick of it and stop bothering.

Our children? I don't have any. I contribute to the children of others everyday by paying taxes that are supposed to be used to feed, educate and heal the less fortunate(sometimes less motivated to work).
As for the planet... walk more, recycle, grow my own vegetables, conserve water and energy when possible. Most of us are too greedy to give up much of what we have because it's hard to see how one person can make a dent in such a global problem.
I just wish people would not litter and leave their shopping carts scattered across grocery store parking lots....that's not much to ask.

Survivality of the planet depends upon 2 most important issue.
Natural gases: A cycle of carbondioxide and oxygen in reciprocal way relates our lives with animal and green vegetables. The plants takes carbondioxide and execute oxygen. We takes oxygen and give the plants carbondioxide by the way of barning petrol, coal, paper, diesel etc.Now the problem that the amount of carbondioxide we are producing unanimously and enormously that causes global warming.
Polution by people: uses of plastic which do not mix with soil, destruction of forest, killing of plants and animals disbalance the ecology system.
Control the above 2 points is enough to save our planet.

Once again we have the scare tactics of the evil ones. The usual psyche games of HG Well's earth under attack by martians type to see what will be our reaction.
All the chaos triggered worldwide is not random but is controlled by certain forces that want to see a drastic change.
I know who they are but will need great effort to expose them.
Believe me you will see human engineered armageddon soon.
Cheers.

Spread the awareness of all the aweful nasty facts of what we are doing to the planet with our wasteful and careless habits.
We need to force the corporations and individuals that are involved with all this destruction and pollution to stop doing it by making it more profitable to do something different. Check out this link, it's a list of some things that are wrong, all this is solvable, but most people aren't aware of the facts of what they use in their daily lives and how it really affects our world.

I would ask everyone to stop eating meat, slow down when they are driving, save the rain forests, re-tain land, farms, countryside, clean the rivers and seas.I would teach People to understand the consequences of their actions when they abuse their environment ,the planet is here for everyone to enjoy.I would ask everyone to plant a tree this helps to stop acid rain.Planting a garden helps to keep our wildlife ,feed the birds and counter balance the wilds of nature with pollination.Bee keeping is a fascinating pastime .

global warming is starting to hit us faster than we expected. it sure is time we got up off our butts n decide to do sumthin useful! i do agree with recyclin n everything but i think we need measures that will impact in a bigger way!! recycling works for u americans, but in india, we barely have proper garbage collection facilities, so lets talk about this keepin ALL of us in mind!! i think i wud develop community awareness programmes, get d ppl living around me to wake up first in the hope that somewhere, somebody else is doing the same! man now i know wat "together we can make a difference" really means..

kill all americans! just kidding, but we are mostly the reason why earths so bad. the other countries have told us about global warning for a while but we won't listen, we love money too much! so i would say in order to save the planet i'd make everyone have the same amount of money, but that's impossible because as being the humans we are, we will always want more to fill the void.

Gather together all the tree hugging hippies and put them on a space ship on a collision course with the Sun. Then the rest of us could have the good time we're supposed to be having.
