Or you can use stop ends.

first of all turn all water of and drain ur system.. u dont need to join the pipes together.. put two end cappers on and if u want a radiator there agin its easy to rectify again ...

Turn off boiler, drain system, turn off lockshield/wheelhead valve or T.R.V. Protect carpet & put a tray under one end of rad undo nut,s connecting valves to rad & slowly tilt rad into tray. A small amount of black water will come out. You can now refill & bleed the rest of the rad,s turn on boiler & away you go. To refit connect rad open valves & bleed rad

Just fit caps . no need for anything else
When removing the old rad make sure you have a container to catcn any water as it tends to be very dirty and will stain any carpets etc.
And Matt read the question. have to be a big lorry to take the house to a garage !!
