Fill the 5 litre bucket.
Pour into 3 litre bucket leaving 2 litres in the 5.
Empty the 3 litre bucket.
Pour the 2 litres from the 5 litre to the 3 (leaving 1 litre space in the top).
Fill the 5 litre bucket again.
Top up the 3 litre bucket with the 1 litre, to leave 4 in the 5 litre.
Celebrate.

fill up the 3 litre, pour it into the 5 litre, fill up the 3 liter again, pour as much as you can into the 5 litre, and then you're left with 1 gallon in the 3 gallon bucket. Empty the 5 litre and pour the 1 litre remaining into it. Refill the 3 litre bucket and ad it to the 1 litre of water already in the 5 litre bucket and you have 4 litres.

First take the 3 liter bucket and pour the water into the five and then once again put it into the 5 liter bucket
Then you will have 1 liter in the 3 liter bucket. throw the water in the 5 liter bucket away and pour the 1 liter in the 3 liter bucket into the 5 liter and then whollah you have 4 liters in the 5 liters bucket.

one of the bucket is filled under the capacity. like instead of the buckets holding 3 and 5, they hold 3, and 1, or 2, and 2, or 1, and3, or 0 and 4 (first number=3 liter bucket second number=5liter bucket)

Did you just watch the Die Hard movie with Sam Jackson in it? That is the same "riddle" that Bruce Willis and Sam Jackson had to figure out in the park under the elephant.
