First of all, what age group is the book for? Younger than eight, you won't want a complicated plot where children have to figure out where the story is going. For the middle grades, say children from 9-13, you're going to want a little more depth to your story, like a mystery, puzzle, a rescue, or exciting adventure.
The best idea, is to write what you know about. Do you collect stamps? How about a magical stamp that a boy or girl is putting into their collection and the portrait on it speaks to them and asks their help in finding something they lost. Then when you solve the mystery, at the end the stamp can become blank, because the ghost of the person is gone!
The point is that your story will seem more realistic, and will flow better if you write about things you are familiar with. Give it a go!

somthing that has a good happy ending and not a really educative one with too much of morals and mostly little girls are fascinated with fairytales and the boys for some total adventurous stories.
