Don't worry. I don't think you are ready for Shakespeare yet. You should be focusing on basic spelling and grammar.
The writings of Shakespeare are some of the most beautiful, profound and deeply relevant works ever. Of course you should be exposed to them! Not only are his sonnets extraordinarily beautiful, and his comedies vastly amusing, but his tragedies and dramas reflected moral, ethical, political and historical issues of his day. Many are still relevant today.

My opinion - I would have to say yes. The reason I say that is because at any point during your life if you partake in a visual presentation, or read a play by Shakespeare you will have questions. I have sat down with friends and watched a movie presentation of “Hamlet”. Throughout the movie we would pause the film and discuss the dialogue and the events that were occurring in an attempt to understand what Shakespeare was trying to tell us. I believe that the main reason for including Shakespeare in the school curriculum is to create questions and dialogue, so the students will try to find, and discuss the answers. That is the essence of learning – especially in English literature class.

Shakespeare is tough reading, but delightful to watch if performed. Plays are meant to be seen not read like a novel; but so many bad English teachers try and make students read it at home and test against that reading knowledge. Elizabethan English is also tricky to look at but far easier to hear spoken. In college, I took a whole semester of Shakespearean Literature. It was tough, and I knew a lot about the works being studied. Let's see: here's some trivia for you: Did you know Shakespeare used more than 10,000 references to the Bible in his 49 plays? So he really knew his Bible! According to critics, Shakespeare added more 20,000 words to the English language that he created or made up and now after years of usage are in mainstream vocabulary. He was a Master of insight and in his plays basically show they good and evil sides of mankind through his characters. Brilliant play write!!

I don't think so, but not because the works aren't amazing - rather, because I don't believe they were written by one person.
