temple university?

i'm from bangladesh and have recently got accepted at temple. i have heard that temple's campus is not very good but is it a good school in terms of academics etc?..how are the students, professor's there? would it worth going there?

I'm a graduate of Temple University and actually the campus is quite nice; it's the surrounding neighborhood that has the bad reputation. But the good news is that you don't ever have to enter the surrounding neighborhood if you don't want to. There is a subway (underground) stop that lets you off right at the campus and everyone else getting off are Temple students and staff.

I couldn't have been happier with the academics at Temple. My classes were all taught by full-time professors and associate professors and I found almost all of them to be inspirational. Instead of "teaching from the book," they were often the authors of the books, so they made their subjects come to life.

Even though Temple is mostly a commuter school, I had a very full social life and made many friends at Temple. I think you will really like how diverse the people are at Temple and you will find several very active international student organizations on campus. You will also find Philadelphia to be full of fascinating things to do. It is definitely worth going there.

I live in the suburbs of Philly and visit center city occasionally...its very urban..very safe on campus but if you venture elsewhere it might not be but violence shouldn't be a factor...i watch the news and i hardly hear of violence that could be real factor at the schools there...my art student teacher went there...as did my piano teacher to get her PhD..28th (or arounnd there) largest university in the nation, its academics are pretty good...my friend reccently went there and liked the campus...there lots and lots of majors to choose from
many schools are better academically.....its only pretty good..decent...its not "not very good" just pretty good
but you should go because along as you excel or do okay at Temple..you will excellent chances of still finding a good job
ps.temples football is terrible btw...however there baskeballl is much better
